Abstract

This paper presents a classroom experience at the upper secondary level of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) in the Nursing Technician program. The study was conducted with third-semester students during the 2026-1 academic cycle (August–December). The active methodology of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) was implemented for teaching Analytic Geometry, using real and everyday clinical cases. Students addressed contextualized problems to determine equations and geometric elements of conic sections and straight lines, while also preparing digital evidence reports. Activities included both individual and collaborative work, such as case analysis. The results showed that PBL promotes interdisciplinarity between mathematics and other areas of knowledge, enhancing the applicability of Analytic Geometry in professional nursing training. Therefore, it is concluded that this methodology represents an innovative and effective strategy for the learning of nursing students at this educational level.
