Development Of Regional Creepypastas Using STEAM Methodology: Innovative Teaching Experience At CBTIS 40, Sonora

This paper presents an innovative teaching experience implemented at the CBTIS 40 campus in Guaymas, Sonora, within the framework of the Language and Communication II course of the New Mexican School (NEM), where students face challenges regarding creative writing and the use of technology for academic purposes. The main objective was to strengthen communicative skills and transversality by linking traditional writing with digital culture. To achieve this, an interdisciplinary STEAM approach was applied with a group of 87 students, who created and disseminated creepypastas based on regional folklore and historical context. Through this process, students researched local history (Science), wrote a horror story (Art), designed a storyboard (Engineering), measured social media reach (Math), and produced a multimedia video using artificial intelligence and digital editing tools (Technology). As a result, the strategy fostered creative writing, motivation, and the development of socio-emotional and digital skills.
