Abstract

The research was focused on determining the effect of implementing Active Methodologies mediated by generative artificial intelligence tools in the subject of Geometry, as well as in its learning and teaching, in the third semester of the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education at the Teacher Training Center of Durango. The adapted and validated Technological Acceptance instrument proposed by Zhai et al. (2024) was used. The study was developed using a quantitative approach, under a longitudinal quasi-experimental design with an explanatory scope; 34 pre-service teachers from two groups participated, selected by interest, forming a Control Group and an Experimental Group. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test was applied, identifying that the data did not approximate a normal distribution. As a result, no statistically significant differences were found in the pretest when applying the Mann-Whitney U test. After the intervention was implemented with the Experimental Group, the posttest results were statistically significant at the significance level (α = 0.05); therefore, the actual effect size was calculated using Rosenthal’s r coefficient. A large effect was obtained, with r = 0.576. It is concluded that the implementation of Active Methodologies through generative Artificial Intelligence tools, integrating collaborative practices and digital resources, significantly enhances technological acceptance and strengthens pre-service teachers’ capacity to construct their own knowledge.
